3D Pool - Information
3D Pool is a solid-shaded three dimensional version of 8-ball Pool, following the usual rules of the game.
3D Pool allows the player to compete in a pool tournament against seven others players - No-Good Nik, Mighty Mike, Catford Kid, Flash Harry, Fast Freddy, Jack Derrida, and Billy T. Kid - with the winner taking on European Pool Champion 'Maletese' Joe Barbara!
The game also has a practive mode where the player can take part in a one-off game against a random opponent. There is also the chance to sit back and watch a demo game between two computer controlled players, or try and succeed in a series of pre-defined Trick Shots, or create your own.
Power, direction and spin can all be applied before the cue ball is struck, and you can also change the viewing angle as if you are really there at the table.
3D Pool was available for the Atari ST, Commodore Amiga, IBM PC (called 'Sharky's 3D Pool'), Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, Spectrum and MSX computers. The latter two versions featured monochrome graphics, so extra options allowed the player to change the colour schemes of the main display.
