Exodus - Information
Exodus was an arcade shoot 'em up where the player controlled a patrolling starship. Their mission was to prevent a variety of enemies escaping from The Pit, by moving in a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction around the perimeter, shooting almost everything that was trying to escape. However, the player wasn't allowed to continuously shoot, as the laser gun on their ship would overheat and cut out.
Certain creatures weren't to be shot at, and other items gave the player bonuses. In what might have been a tip of the hat to Jeff Minter, if a Mutant Llama escaped then a life was lost. All of this was played out against the clock, with time bonuses allowing the player to extend the time period on each level up to a maximum of 99 seconds.
