The copy on the back of the Sabre Wulf inlay said absolutely nothing except for displaying the title logo. It didn't even feature any screenshots.

If the player didn't already know what the game was, then the box wasn't going to be of any help making them decide whether to buy it or not!

Details

Sabre Wulf was released in a very dark grey A5-sized cardboard box, which was identical to the later Ultimate releases of the game (BBC, Amstrad CPC, MSX) but with a smaller Ultimate logo and the addition of a large Firebird logo.

The box opened like a book and included an instruction booklet which again was almost identical to the original Ultimate release, with the exception of credits for the Firebird conversion.

Magazine adverts

The Sabre Wulf advert published in the UK included the Firebird Underwurlde conversion, but there was no mention of the Night Shade conversion (by Shahid Ahmad).
